Hi everyone,
I am just back from my studio where I unloaded a kiln full of pots, yay! I planned to get these on to Etsy tonight, but it’s just a little too late (did I mention I have a 4 year old? and I am moving in a few days?).
My plan now: 10 am Sunday morning all these pots will be for sale on Etsy. I’ll keep the store open until the end of Monday and then it’s over! I apologize for dragging this out a little; my hope was to have the pots up earlier today, but alas.
I’ll have around 40 new pieces in this last group, including many cups and mugs, altered bowls and small jars as well as some larger jars and even a teapot or two. Here are a few preview images below.
Set your alarms for 9:59 Sunday morning! The magic word is: Bashevis.
I just love this cup; in fact I may keep it. It is the fab black/brown clay with black/brown glaze. The dots are bare clay. I love how they are tonally so similar but totally different materials and textures. Pottery!!!
Here’s a little altered bowl, scraped on the outside and with lots of little dots on the inside. it strikes me as a happy bowl!
This one is, well, perhaps a little more vampy than happy. Not a bad place to be.
This is another one that I might keep. Dan Schmitt, an estimable potter and friend in Eugene, Oregon got the first one I made about a month ago. This one is equally lovely and gives me the thought, “gosh, I made that?”
A round cream and sugar set, how’s that for a novelty? Dots and the lovely creamy glaze.
An altered jar. This was one of the last ones that I photographed, and can you tell it was getting dark? Ntural light is so much better and I was trying not to use the flash. So it’s a little more vibrant in person.
Gasp, a hut jar. There are a handful of them in this batch. A couple of little ones and I think one or two big ones. Big being relative, of course: 9 inches. This one is about 5 or 6.
I like this one too, creamy lines and dots. Lake Placid.
Here is a teapot. Can you tell I am loving the white glaze on black clay still??
That’s it for the preview. Check Etsy Sunday morning!

Can I ask what black clay you use? I’m interested in trying a few out. Thanks! (love the new work!)
