Hello trusty readers,

My etsy shop is live with pots you can buy right now! Here’s the url:

It took longer that I had anticipated, of course, but I am glad I have new work up and available. Blog readers are getting the fist crack at this: my email announcing the shop will go out on Wednesday. Enjoy the preview and tell your friends!

Here is some of what is available:

Jem Jars, always a favorite for me to make.

I am unreasonably fond of these mugs. I made them out of this black clay, which I didn’t think I’d like, but now adore. The unglazed handles are very 1950s stoneware, and the mottled grey/white totally works. Also love the rim.

I also am loving this purple glaze which has a nice satin finish and way more color variation than I would have thought, little specks of things make the surface calm but dynamic. Also I love how the black rests on there.

I find it really interesting that much of what I am making now does not conform to what I thought was important to me about pottery, but I still love it and feel like it is really my work. These are all electric kiln glazes, I’m using a smooth white clay (and a black clay), working on an electric wheel in an a busy urban studio. I am sort of surprised that I can take my peaceful reverie with me, and that I do not need my quiet country studio or my gas kiln to make what feel like real pots to me.

I have more work in process; my plan is to post more pieces on Friday and then next Friday as well. We’ll see how it goes! I have my studio until the end of the month, but if all of you lovely people whisk these pots into your lives I’ll extend it into July and try to make a few more pots before moving to New Haven.

Apologies now and forever for some of the photos. We really do our best int his world, but sometimes the digital paraphernalia gets out of hand. Even my very fancy camera is unpredictable in this regard, so try to forgive me for the occasional blurry image.

Remember, until Wednesday only blog readers and your friends know about my pots being available, so visit etsy, give me lots of favorites and views, and buy anything you think you might love!
